This was an interesting project as I was only given 2 weeks to conceptualize, design, and complete the animation. At the time, Risk & Exposure Management was a new offering from Forescout, and they were very eager to display a showpiece about it during RSAC. The thing about conferences is … it’s very hectic, busy, loud.

I worked closely with the head of product marketing to develop this animation. Our initial concept was more metaphor: an arcade full of whack-of-mole machines vs a single, exhausted player. The moles would represent cyber threats, attacks, unauthorized devices, and the exhausted player was to represent a strained technology workforce. In the end, timing was an issue, not the story. I was unable to design and develop these whack-a-mole scenes in a convincing metaphorical manner given the tight deadline. As a result, we retained the script and pivoted to a more literal narrative, following a tried-and-true formula.
